Key No Go

One of my fave pics of Moriarty. When she gets tan, the color of her skin turns this color. By the time we leave The Keys, she will have gone through about 20 shades of brown.

Speaking of leaving...

We had booked a week in Key Largo. But our plans change often. Key Largo isn't what we thought it was. Once you get over the idea that this was the place where a Bogart movie was filmed, there isn't much to do. And visiting a place just because it was the setting for a Bogie flick isn't the best way to travel. I mean, I wouldn't want to be in, say, Morocco, pulling into a campsite any time soon.

And the insects are bad here. No see ums.

I've started to call it Key Larva.

And speaking of no see ums. That goes for the bodies of water on each side of this key. We took a drive this morning, looking for a place to have lunch on the water. We finally found one. On a made made canal. So far the Gulf of Mexico and the ocean are rumors. We went out to find them. Drove to find em, but no see em.

So. We cancelled the last four days of our stay here and are headed to what I'm hoping are " The Real Keys, " the ones out near Key West. Our friend, James Bond and Jan may be seeing us sooner that they thought. And they have this big, inground, heated swimming pool I may do some snorkling in.

Will keep y'all posted.

Oh, and one more thing. If I hear another Jimmy Buffett song I'm gonna through a sandal and a speaker. We heard him all through lunch. Then I went to a sandal place and bought a pair of Billabongs. Buffett was playing in there, too.

Lots of ammo to aim at THOSE speakers.

Get outta Dodge ASAP! Move on to the REAL Keys...and after that five hour drive, I hope you have a blast. On your way back, check out Key Biscayne, on the other side of Miami, over the Rickenback Causway. You will find plenty of places for the three of you to swim, romp and let loose. At the very tip of Key Biscayne is a wonderful national seashore preserve, which I believe, has an RV section (Bogg? Bagg? Bragg?--look it up). If not, there is another one on Key Biscayne, MUCH closer to your preferred spot, Jupiter Beach.
A bit of trivia: Bebe Rebozo lived there!
